Rick Barry retired in 1980 as the greatest free throw shooter in NBA/ABA history with an 89.3% mark. 36 years later and he still sits #7 all time despite shooting his free throws underhanded or “Granny Style” as referred to on the playgrounds. Considering his success it’s surprising, and somewhat shocking, that nobody has since replicated Barry’s style in the NBA….until now. Houston Rockets rookie Chinanu Onuaku channelled his inner Rick Barry as he made his NBA debut today.
The young kid is 2 for 2. With any luck Andre Drummond, DeAndre Jordan and Dwight Howard have taken notes.
