Of Denver’s rookies this year, it’s the unheralded 6’10”, 20 year old Serb drafted 41st in the 2014 second round that’s delivering so far. And he’s delivering in a big way.
In 46 games so far Jokic:
- is averaging 9.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 19.5 minutes of action;
- has a PER of 22.21 (good enough to be neck and neck with Karl Anthony-Towns and 19th in the WHOLE LEAGUE);
- is ranked 2nd among ALL centers for offensive RPM (behind only DeMarcus Cousins);
- has an overall RPM rank of 7th among all centers.
The initial concern was that he was not athletic enough to be a competent NBA defender. However, his defensive RPM is ranked 30th (out of a total of 77 centers) – so he’s no Enes Kanter.

Keep an eye on this guy. He can play.
